JOB SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is responsible for successfully delivering projects across one or more business units. The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to guidelines throughout the full project development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Project Manager: has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis; and, verifies that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish and achieve project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards for all phases of projects, by accurately monitoring the project to ensure profitable, safe and timely projects.
Manage and direct the delivery processes to achieve the following project delivery strategic objectives: health and safety, quality control management, project schedule, budget, and financial performance estimate to complete and earned value reporting), project team expectations, operational performance, business unit expectations.
Oversee the administration of the project teams and the coordination of activities between project locations; ensuring that all decisions and activities within the various project teams support the project’s objectives and priorities.
Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
Project coordination with the Principles and Project Engineers, Designers and other disciplines or sub-Consultants as necessary to produce the project.
Directly oversee formulating project parameters, assigning responsibilities and monitoring the project team.
Develops goals and priorities in conjunction with employees and assigns tasks and projects.  Mentor and develop staff skills and training plans. Implements corrective actions and conducts performance evaluations.
Responsible for the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly project control reports, as well as operational reports concerning costs, billings, cost loaded schedules, progress schedules, manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
Manage the buyout and procurement process, negotiate, and execute subcontracts and purchase orders.
Preparing and giving verbal and written presentations on projects.
Preparation of cost estimates and/or cost loaded schedules.
Coordinates preparation of applications for all necessary regulatory permits.
Keeping team members informed on progress and developments.
Generating, submitting, and monitoring project documentation such as change orders, request for information, and submittals.
Establish/maintain good relationships with client, owner, design team, vendors and subcontractors and develop new relationships to target new opportunities.
Assemble field teams with General Superintendent.
Serve as a main point of contact between office and field staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Bachelor’s degree in the construction-related field desired. Will consider 10+ years of experience in lieu of college degree. Basic knowledge of general construction industry contracting practices a plus.
Must be able to pass Government Background Investigations and obtain clearances onto military installations.
Past experience of managing Government contracts preferred.

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

10 or more years of project management experience.
Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of construction software programs.
The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Ability to independently solve problems
Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
Ability to work with varied customers and clients, including federal, state agencies, local governmentagencies, and commercial clients.
Works independently with minimal guidance/supervision.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical construction documents. procedures, or governmental regulations.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Expected work hours will vary by job, location, and needs.
May be required to travel to various locations as required.
While performing the essential functions of this job, this position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands, and handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, lift above their head, and talk or hear.
This position will require the ability to lift, manually move or push in excess of 75 pounds.
Ability to work in several diverse locations is pertinent, as work locations may change daily.
Expected work hours will vary by job, location, and season. Working a night shift may be required from time to time.
May be required to travel and/or live-in remote construction project locations as required for whatever periods of time as are necessary to complete such projects.
